If Mr Jobs wasn’t a guy, things would be different. As a woman, she’d have been likely to quit tech—two times more likely. By women’s statistics, Jobs would have been 99% less likely to receive VC funding.

Funding it herself would have been trickier, since women earn an average of 63% less than men. If she did manage to push on, without experiencing burnout as women are 40% more likely to, she may have got lucky when funding for women hit an all-time high of 2.8% in 2019. Still, she’d be 64 and about to retire—if it weren’t 8 years after her death.
